When you move to Alberta you have 90 days to convert to an Alberta licence and register your vehicle in this province. In order to register your vehicle, you will need Alberta car insurance.
A Claims Experience Letter is a formal letter from your former insurance provider that shows your insurance claims history. The Claims Experience Letter should include the following information:
- Name and Address of the policy holder
- Policy number
- Effective and expiry date of the policy
- Names of all drivers listed
- Claims (if any) made during the term of the policy
Your previous provider may also include terms of your contract and liability limits.
Insurance companies in Calgary consider Claims Experience Letters as a record of the most up-to-date information on your insurance history. For example, when purchasing car insurance, a prospective insurance provider can assess your risk by looking for policy cancellations, claims filed and the period for which you’ve been insured.
