Personal Lines Broker Assistant (Broker Service Unit)

We are seeking someone to provide support services to our Broker team and handle administrative
tasks. If you are interested in pursuing your career in the Insurance industry, this role would provide you
with foundational level knowledge and opportunities to advance or diversify to other positions within our
company in the future.

Job Duties:

  • Administrative duties using Microsoft products(Word/Excel), data entry and special projects
  • Entering and updating claim information
  • Scanning documents and updating files
  • Reviewing Company Memos
  • Contacting clients and Company Underwriters for information
  • Accessing company portals for various items
  • Home Evaluations (ITVs) reports
  • Sending confirmations of Insurance to lineholders/lessors
  • Requesting Vehicle Inspection Reports
  • Premium Increase Investigation
  • Processing Change Requests and New Business applications on Insurance Company Portals
  • Issuing Pink Cards
  • Reviewing Required Coverages for New Business, Renewals and Endorsements
  • Calling customers regarding Final Payment and NSF notifications
  • Invoicing duties and reconciliations
  • Processing payments from clients
  • Relief reception

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Level 1 General Insurance License an asset
  • Prior Insurance Brokerage and/or Insurance Company work experience an asset
  • Experience with the Applied Systems (Epic) and Compu Quote an asset
  • Experience with computer systems including Microsoft products
  • Prior office work experience an asset
  • Well organized
  • Eager to learn
  • Able to work well in a team environment and independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
